I recently had a client mention to me that she felt like she was in the eye of a hurricane, that everything around her was going too fast and she didn’t have control.
After a little bit of time, I was able to help her shift her perspective and see this as a positive situation.
When considering the structure of a hurricane, the eye is calm, clear, and peaceful. The inner bands are extremely powerful, traveling in a coordinated direction, impacting everything in the hurricane's path. The outer bands have far-reaching power, though with less intensity.
Imagine if we could replicate this impact model in our businesses - our processes and communication become so efficient and strategic that there is great energy and impact with a direct effect on our clients and colleagues. The factors that affect our indirect influence, including our extended networks and professional reputations, are far reaching but less material, just like the outer bands of a storm.
When our businesses are operating seamlessly, we feel as though we are sitting in the eye of the hurricane, peaceful and calm, knowing that there is motion, momentum, and energy functioning in a coordinated fashion.
Take time to analyze what needs to be done so that you are ensured that the impact of your business is powerful and positive in the lives of the people you serve.
Consider some things that you can do to increase your positive impact:
- Improve processes
- Increase communication
- Increase client engagement
This week, create a storm of positivity in the lives of your clients, and enjoy the peace and joy in the eye of the hurricane.
